The real problem I have is with peoples lack of awareness of how serious asthma can be. I have had comments like sit down you will be ok, give up smoking ( I have never smoked)things like that. Luckily my daughter and I have taught her kids what to look out for etc. It pays off, my younger granddaughter is not quite 4 but when I was taken bad in the supermarket she got me to sit down and then went to find my daughter who was somewhere in the supermarket. Poor little mite in her urgent need to find her Mum for me she went flying .Zoe realised there was something wrong and came to us. She then showed Raven where my emergency inhaler was and how to take the lid off etc. I was so proud of Raven that day she could have just stood there dithering like a lot of adults.
There needs to be more education certainly in the UK about just how serious it is and that it does kill mainly because people don't know what to do.
